A Local Recognition We’re Proud Of

Published on April 15, 2026

A meaningful local nomination

We were thrilled to be nominated for the Parksville Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards in the Remote & Hybrid Business Excellence category!

This category highlights local businesses that are operating remotely or in hybrid environments while still maintaining strong culture, communication, and performance.

While we didn’t take home the award this year, we had a great time being part of the event and being nominated alongside so many amazing local businesses is something we’re genuinely proud of.

We were also proud to support this year’s awards as a sponsor.

“As a remote team, it means a lot to be recognized alongside businesses that are making an impact locally. We’ve always cared about staying connected to the community we’re a part of.
The winner, and local pal, Dan King, created a physical coworking space in downtown Parksville. How cool is that? And another bud, Councillor Joel Grenz of MotionTide, has created his own software for his remote team after using available tools and not finding them adequate. How innovative, right?
While WMWL is so proud to be a remote working team, we have strived to create a local culture by currently only employing Vancouver Island residents as digital marketing experts, while maintaining a flexible work schedule and workplace culture that is supportive and puts the well-being of the team member before the project.” — Mark Beuerman

Remote and Connected

WMWL has always been a remote team, but we’re still closely connected to the communities we’re part of.

As our team has grown, we’ve put a lot of thought into how we work together. Clear processes and strong communication are a big part of how we operate, and what allows us to deliver consistent work for our clients.

Looking Ahead as a Remote Team

Thank you to the Parksville Chamber for the nomination, and congratulations to this year’s nominees and winners!

And of course, a big thank you to our clients. We’re grateful for the work we get to do together and excited for what’s ahead.

As we continue to grow, we’re focused on strengthening our team and refining how we work. Part of that is adding more dedicated support to help keep projects moving smoothly for our clients. We’ve recently added a new project manager, web designer, and conversion copywriter to our team — which means we’re able to move faster and put more focus on improving how your website performs and converts.

We’re excited for this next phase and the impact it will have on our clients!
